The 28 Day Self Love Challenge – Day 15

Day 15 of the 28 Days of Self Love Challenge

Today’s Challenge is to spend the day away from social media. Although, social media has become an important part of many people’s lives, it also has some risks. Social media had been linked to greater feelings of isolation, it triggers more sadness and less well-being. Social media can even trigger stress and anxiety with all the negative stuff that gets shared out there!

Social media has been become easy to access anywhere and at all times. As a result we are often focused on it 24/7. Staying away from social media lowers cortisol levels and helps you be calmer and more focused.

During the pandemic, I had already cut down on my social media usage; there was just too much negativity out there. Doing this helped me realize it felt so calm and peaceful. I had more time to do more useful and productive work.

It was initially difficult to resist the temptation to just pick up the phone anytime a notification buzzed. So, I turned off ALL notifications except for some important ones. And wow!, It was amazing!! It was like I was a slave to the notification buzzer and now I was free! 🙂

So for today’s challenge I limited my time to social media to the barest minimum, checking it only for important personal messages and checking in with the school groups.

Now over to you
