I know, many working moms would prefer to simply hire a maid to clean their house. But then, not everyone can afford a maid, especially in the current circumstances. In addition, not all maids are reliable or efficient.

A simple and easy house cleaning schedule can help working moms clean the house and save a ton of money without having to spend time cleaning or getting overwhelmed with all that needs to be done.

For example, you can make a cleaning schedule for every day of the week and it can include cleaning the windows, floors, bathrooms, kitchen, bedrooms, etc. You can even set aside a specific time when you are going to do it. Put it all down in paper and design your cleaning schedule to suit your own personal needs. Putting things on paper makes it easier to stay on track.

How do busy moms clean the house every day?

30 days to a clean houseIn order to make sure that your house stays clean always, you have to make house cleaning a daily habit. Decide on certain tasks that need to be done daily (for example: doing the dishes, a load of laundry, a quick tidy up…) and create a daily cleaning routine for yourself. Initially, you can start by doing a little bit everyday. Start with a few tasks and add in new ones gradually. If you try to do too much all at once, you will burn out and give up.

If you can’t clean daily, clean the house at least once or twice a week. It is a good idea to clean your house in the same way every time. That way you will get into a routine and it will be easier to clean your house.

It also helps to develop habits that will help your house stay clean. Here are 11 habits to having an always clean and tidy house. I know that if you practice these habits, you will never have to worry about cleaning your house ever again!

And don’t forget to get your family on board! It just doesn’t work out if one person cleans and 3 others make a mess!!

A good and easy house cleaning schedule for working moms.

More than anything, a good house cleaning schedule for working moms is one that works for yo and is easy enough to follow. It is one that includes all of the things you need to do to keep your house clean. If you only do the cleaning once a week, then your house will be a mess all the time. You need to make sure that you clean on a daily basis – even if it’s just a quick clean.

It is always a good idea to do start out with the difficult tasks in the morning, when you are most energetic and leave the low energy tasks for later.

This kind of a schedule works well even for me, as a SAHM. I prefer to do most of the tasks when my energy levels are high and end the day with a quick tidy up at the end of the day which includes the kids putting away their own stuff. The general rule is that they put back toys once they are done with them, but that doesn’t always happen! So they do a quick tidy up before bed and if we still find anything out of place it goes in the donation box. That serves as good motivation for them to tidy up!

A practical and easy house cleaning schedule for working moms

The way I prefer doing it, is to do most of my daily tasks as a part of my normal daily routine. For example, make up the bed as soon as we’re up, do the dishes as soon as we are done with them, swish the toilets and wipe down bathroom counters just before my bath etc. That leaves my weekly and monthly task which I do within my “Cleaning Power Hour”. (It takes lesser time now when I am more consistent with my cleaning). During my Cleaning Power Hour, I focus my full attention on one room per week – during that hour, I surface clean the entire room and deep clean one area in that room, as much as I can. Once my hour is up, I stop. Then, the following week, I continue the deep cleaning where I left off.

Here is my recommended cleaning schedule for working moms. You could follow the same or change it around if you’d like.

Easy House Cleaning Schedule for Working MomsThis checklist includes daily tasks and weekly surface cleaning each room. In addition to surface cleaning, I also do some monthly deep cleaning task in that same room. This system ensures that my weekly and monthly tasks happen regularly in rotation. Initially this routine may seem like a lot, but when you do it regularly, there isn’t really much to clean and these tasks get done much faster.

How do working moms find time to clean?

Working moms sometimes just can’t find any time to clean the house, especially when they work outside the house. Maybe you need to leave very early or you reach home late in the evenings, leaving little or no time to clean.

So, what do you do? And how do you do it?

Don’t wait until you have all the time in the world to clean. Do it whenever you find time. Even just a few minutes here and there can make a lot of difference. Maybe you could get up a bit earlier in the morning before work or you could set aside some time in the afternoon after work. You could even clean at night after the kids have gone to bed or on the weekends, when you don’t have to work.

You might not be able to do everything that you want to and it might not be perfect. But just do a little bit!

How do moms clean after working all day?

But if you still have some cleaning to do, relax and pamper yourself a bit before you get down to it. Maybe take a nice hot shower to help you relax. Then get in the cleaning mood by turning on some music that you like or watch a movie while you clean.

You don’t have to pick up the whole house at once, just do what you can.
